Legos....

I have a love/hate relationship with Legos. On the one hand my boys love them. They build all kinds of crazy things and I think it is a better use of time than sitting in front of the TV. On the other hand there is Luke. Luke is little, not quite two. He has chubby hands and uncoordinated fingers. He LOVES Legos but can't quite build the fantastic things his brothers build. He tries, and then gets frustrated and ends up throwing Legos all over my house.
Have you ever stepped on a Lego? Then you know my suffering....
Do you know what it is like to find little Lego pieces and wheels all over your house? Again, more suffering....
After throwing them all over the place he will continue to cry about his lack of ability to build things. I sometimes try to help him but he just ends up breaking whatever we have built about 2 seconds later. Then more crying ensues. Yet again....more suffering.....
So what's a girl to do??
I'd like to get rid of all of them, but that would not be a good Mom thing to do. So, for the time being I will just live with it, maybe I will slowly pilfer from the Lego pile and throw them away one piece at a time.....

Confessions.....

On Friday I met some friends for dinner. It was so great to see everyone, I have not laughed that hard in a long time. Some of them I haven't seen for years (like 5-10 years). They are all so beautiful, they all have kids, some of them are working too. It seems crazy that time goes by so quickly! I am a little sad that I lost track of them over the years, I missed a lot of stuff! Sad how that happens huh....

Yummy food....

Isaac decided he wanted Mac & Cheese for his birthday dinner. That sounded awful to me so I made mac and cheese for the kids and then I tried a new recipe for the adults. It was so good and so easy I thought I would share.

Pork Chops with Apples and Stuffing

1 6 oz package Stove Top stuffing mix for Chicken
1 21 oz can apple pie filling
6 boneless pork loin chops

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Prepare stuffing as directed on package.
Spread pie filling on bottom of 13x9 baking dish sprayed with cooking spray. Top with pork chops and then stuffing. Cover with foil.
Bank for 30-45 minutes. Uncover and bake an addition 10-15 minutes.

I don't love pork but there is something about pork and apples that goes together so well!! Yumm......

Just for Grandpa and Grandma Miller

Isaac's Birthday Party!

Isaac decided to have a policeman party. I had it at the park so I didn't have to come up with any games. They had lunch and then played with their police gear.

Here are the friendly neighborhood cops.

Here is my lame attempt at decorating (the caution tape)....

Here is the birthday boy!

Remodeling....

Jason and I decided to do a few things to the house to get ready for the baptism. Just one of the many reasons I was so stressed out the 2 weeks before. We put in a new back splash and added a rope decor at the top of the cabinets. We put new bead board on the cabinets sides and then painted and glazed that. Then we painted all the baseboards in the house and did touch up paint on the walls. Crazy that it takes something like the baptism to actually get you to do the things you have needed to do for months! I took a picture of the back splash and cabinets for those of you that live far away and haven't seen it!

Favorite Book!

This is one of my favorite books ever written! I used it in my YW lesson today and cried like a sap. If you haven't read it you need to, it is one of those warm, fuzzy, feel good books!

I am a survivor....

So I survived the week. My brain is still semi-attached. I am really tired, really really tired but that is ok. I have tons and tons of fruit left over from the dinner. I ended up giving ALL of the other food away. Yeah! (Tracey you are in trouble for not telling me there was that much cantaloupe in my fridge......) I just want to say I have the most FABULOUS friends in the entire world! Sally helped cater the baptism. It looked so beautiful and the food was awesome! Jennifer spent hours weeding my yard and then brought ice and cut up limes, lemons and oranges for the water bowl. Plus she sent her hubby over to help with tables and chairs. Crystal made my sons birthday cake, yes I did say birthday cake. By the way it was perfect! Tracey cleaned up my entire kitchen after everyone left. My Mom came up early and took care of my ironing pile (it took her like 4-5 hours, yikes!) How did I get so lucky? I am not that great of a friend and definately don't deserve it all but I do want you all to know I think you are the greatest friends a girl could ever have!! THANK YOU......THANK YOU......THANK YOU.

(Now on a side note, I do have a couple of friends that live far away and a few cousins that I know would have been here helping if they were closer, so girls I love you too!!)

I will update my blog with pictures tomorrow but I am just going to relax tonight!

Happy Birthday Noah!

It is Noah's birthday today! I can't believe he is 8! Where has the time gone. He surprised us 7 weeks early weighing in at 4 lbs. 8 oz. and 18 in. long. He was a great baby and has grown up to be a great boy. He is the best big brother and we all love him tons and tons!
Happy Birthday Noah!!

hmmmm.....

I am blogging because if I don't distract myself I might start crying. I am so tired and sore. I weeded my yard all day. My friend Jennifer helped me for a couple of hours this morning......I know....I am very lucky to have such a good friend that will help me weed my yard. Thank you girl! After she left I decided to do more stuff around the yard and that took a couple more hours. I left all these piles everywhere and I still have 2 more beds to do and all the piles to pick up, then I have to sweep and make everything look nice. Yard work sucks.....I need to move to Arizona where they just have cactus and rocks. My back and neck are all sore and my right hand hurts when I make a fist. I got stickers all in my left arm that I now get to pull out with tweezers.....I am so tired and I just want to go to bed......tomorrow I only have to finish weeding and paint my kitchen.......I am crying now so I am going to log off......
